SOR 2025 – Benchmarking Australia’s Regions

The 2025 edition of the State of the Regions (SOR) report describes and compares the economic circumstances for Australia’s 67 SOR regions, the 5 largest Metro regions and the 7 SOR region types of Metro Centre, Metro Inner, Metro Outer, Metro Periphery, Country Diverse, Country Rural and Remote. The report introduces two new sections within the SOR region descriptions, NIEIR’s CO2 Emissions Profile and Leading Indicators.
